Arizona Newspaper Project
Newspapers are indispensable resources for historians, genealogists, journalists and business people. In order to preserve this valuable resource, the Arizona Newspaper Project (ANP), in partnership with the United States Newspaper Project at the Library of Congress and the National Endowment for the Humanities, created a collection of hard copy and microfilm newspapers throughout the state. To access a list of newspapers available, visit the U.S. Newspaper Directory, and search Arizona.

Arizona Digital Newspaper Program (ADNP)
The National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP) is a partnership between the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), the Library of Congress, and individual state projects to provide enhanced access to United States newspapers. NEH awards support state projects to select and digitize historically significant titles that are aggregated and permanently maintained by the Library of Congress at Chronicling America, as well as on individual state websites. Arizona participated in the program from 2009-2014, and the state’s collection of digitized newspapers can be found on Arizona Memory Project.
Arizona's Newspaper Collections
The State of Arizona Research Library subscribes to several newspapers from Arizona cities and towns and those current newspapers are available for use in the library. After a few months, the papers are microfilmed and made available at the Polly Rosenbaum Archive and History Building. We have over two million pages of newspapers on microfilm and in hard copy available for patron use. Please search in the Online Catalog. Some microfilm titles are available for Inter-Library Loan (ILL). Please contact your local library. For research requests, see the form and requirements here.
Also available at the SLA and in the Polly Rosenbaum History and Archives building or remotely using a Library Card, are online full text articles from selected newspapers.
