Join Dr. Heidi Osselaer, author of Winning Their Place: Arizona Women in Politics, 1883-1950,  in the reading room of the Polly Rosenbaum State Archives and History Building as she discusses the process of writing his work: from idea, to research, to print!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Heidi Osselaer has a Ph.D. in U. S. History and focuses on Arizona and southwestern history. She has taught at Arizona State University, Tempe, Scottsdale Community College, and Phoenix College. Her award-winning book, Winning Their Place: Arizona Women in Politics was published by the University of Arizona Press in 2009. Click on the title to read the book on Reading Arizona. Dr. Osselaer served as the historical consultant and producer for the documentary film, Power’s War, released in 2015, about the deadliest gunfight in Arizona history, and has completed a manuscript on the topic.  She is a recipient of the Sharlot Hall Award for her “valuable contributions to the understanding and awareness of Arizona and its history” and plays an active role with the Arizona Women’s Heritage Trail.
