Store Assistants
The Arizona Capitol Museum Store is seeking high energy volunteers to help with store operations between the hours of 9:30 am and 4:00 pm. Assistance is needed with customer purchases, merchandise displays, and special events. Help is needed during the Holiday Season and will continue through the Centennial Celebration. Ideal candidates must have:
Availability at least one day per week for a minimum of 4 hours.
A positive upbeat personality focused on providing excellent customer service.
Computer literacy, or experience with computer cash registers (helpful).
Excellent communication skills and ability to be tactful under pressure.
A dependable, accountable and trustworthy character.
A professional appearance.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time and some lifting of light items.
Museum Aides
Provide support 1 day per week from 10am to 2pm. Duties will include:
Direct visitors through museum exhibits.
Provide insight regarding highlights of Capitol Exhibits and Arizona Government/History.
Help maintain order of group tours.
Direct visitors to the Museum Store, Capitol Mall offices, and other attractions.

Capitol Guides
Present interpretive tours of the Capitol building and exhibits for Capitol Museum visitors.
Guided tours are usually scheduled between 9:30 am and 1:00 pm. Occasionaly groups are scheduled later in the afternoon.
Can work both independently and as part of a team.
Museum Ambassadors
Ambassadors offer a friendly welcome and information about the Museum and State Capitol. Shifts are 3.5 hours long on weekday mornings and afternoons.
Ambassadors oversee the guest register and provide logistical assistance with public tours.

Volunteers enjoy exhibit openings and other programs, the holiday tree trimming party, special presentations, and a 10% discount in the Museum Store.
Volunteers have the opportunity to meet new friends and share an interest in Arizona history. Of course, we understand the need for flexibility for vacations and other personal commitments.
