| Compensation: | $27,000 DOE | |
| Job Description: | * Provides supervision of the Access Services desks’ operations during the Library's evening hours, Sunday through Thursday. Typically works 2:45pm – 11:45pm Sundays and 1 pm – 10 pm Monday through Thursday during the Spring and Fall semesters. Shift hours will change as Library hours change during breaks and Summer. * Hires, supervises, trains, evaluates, and schedules Circulation/Stacks Library aides. * Provides assistance to users via email, by telephone and at Library service desks. * Monitors activity in the building during the Library's evening hours and resolves access issues to all materials and services. * Provides primary evening supervision of building safety and maintenance, consistently monitoring activity in the building during the Library’s evening hours to ensure a safe and conducive research environment. Documents security incidents and contacts appropriate agencies for resolution of specific incidents or issues. * Participates in Library cross-training initiatives in order to assist other units with meeting Library wide priorities by directing Library aides throughout the building during the evening hours. * Maintains and updates Circulation unit information including training and policy documentation. * Processes payments and maintains associated records for Circulation. * Assists the Circulation Supervisor in the development and evaluation of new services, policies, and procedures related to circulation and stacks maintenance especially to develop user-centered web based solutions. |

| Requirements: | Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree AND one year related library experience OR • Five years related library experience OR • An equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education. Desired Qualifications: • Supervisory Experience • Customer Service Experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Strong commitment to outstanding customer service. • Demonstrated skill in coordinating the work of others. • Interest in using technology to improve or develop services in the Library's Circulation unit. • Familiarity with a variety of web applications, productivity software, other application software and systems. • Creative approach to managing resources and improving operations. • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills in a multicultural learning and working environment. • Demonstrated flexibility in and enjoyment of collaborative endeavors in a project based environment. • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills. • Highly productive when working independently or in teams, as changing situations require. • Strong oral and written communication skills
