| Job Description: | The Arizona Health Sciences Library (AHSL) is seeking an HCOE Information Services (reference) Librarian (Assistant Librarian), fluent in Spanish, to develop and deliver informatics services to the Hispanic Center of Excellence of the College of Medicine AND to library clientele involved in scholarship, clinical care, or research into Hispanic, border, cross-cultural, bilingual, and culturally sensitive health issues. This position reports to the Head of Information Services and works with other reference librarians committed to delivering sophisticated knowledge-based services in a fast-paced academic health sciences environment. | Requirements: | Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and deliver information (and consultative) services and instructional programming in informatics for targeted faculty and students, AND library clientele involved in scholarship, clinical care, or research into Hispanic, border, cross-cultural, bilingual, and culturally sensitive health issues. Working with others, improve the print and electronic collections, develop AHSL’s web site into a bilingual culturally sensitive Web, and improve access statewide to instruction in Hispanic health informatics skills. Work closely with HCOE faculty and staff, AHSL faculty and staff, and participate in Information Services department projects and functions. Master’s Degree in Library/Information Sciences or other relevant area. Health reference experience, including database searching, computer applications, and finding quality information on the Internet. Fluency in Spanish. Knowledge of Hispanic culture and customs
