A Dose of Cod Liver Oil: The New Deal


The State of Arizona is no stranger to hard times. Learn about how Arizonans survived and thrived during the Great Depression with this five-panel traveling exhibit.


Great Depression Photo The traveling exhibit includes:
  • Five panels, each three feet wide and seven feet tall, that use photographs, primary documents, and maps to illustrate the new deal’s influence on working, living, and playing in Arizona.
  • PowerPoint slideshow featuring Great Depression primary sources from the State Archives
  • List of top ten books published about the Great Depression in the past decade
  • Simple program ideas for your patrons (scavenger hunt and Great Depression film and music activities
  • Extra panel for local Great Depression information
  • Brief guide for further research in the State Archives and Law and Research Library

If you are interested in reserving this exhibit, please fill out this loan form. Reservations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Please allow a minimum of two weeks lead time. Although the exhibit rental is free, please be aware that you are responsible for shipment to and from your institution.
