Bonus Years By the Numbers:

  • 78 million – the number of Baby Boomers as of July 2005

  • 25% -- Boomers comprise at least 25% of the population of every state except Utah

  • 33% and 5% -- Proportions of adults age 25 and older with at least a high school diploma and at least a bachelor’s degree, respectively, in 1947. By 2004, those numbers had risen to 85% and 28%

  • 24% -- Expected growth in the 55-and-over workforce between 2010 and 2025
