Bonus Years @ the Carnegie is a program aimed at addressing the changing nature of retirement and aging. The Baby Boomer generation will reach retirement age healthier and more active than ever before. With increase longevity many Boomers will explore a variety of options for this new third phase of life.

Bonus Years By the Numbers:

• 78 million – the number of Baby Boomers as of July 2005
  
  
• 25% -- Boomers comprise at least 25% of the population of every state except Utah
  
  
• 33% and 5% -- Proportions of adults age 25 and older with at least a high school diploma and at least a bachelor’s degree, respectively, in 1947. By 2004, those numbers had risen to 85% and 28%
  
  
• 24% -- Expected growth in the 55-and-over workforce between 2010 and 2025
