DIGITAL BOOK COLLECTION

photo of digital machine and cartridgeDue to the recent improvement in patrons returning digital books (DB), we are raising the number of digital books that can be checked out to 3. Digital books are due 30 days after the date of issue on the mailing card. There are currently no renewals on DB’s.

The digital book collection is growing each week with 30-50 new digital book titles added to the collection. Currently, the collection has over 2,500 titles in the collection with 15,000 individual items. In May, 7,575 items were checked out.

The library does not have the resources to reproduce missing digital book cartridges. Our service is free in that we do not collect an application fee nor fines for overdue items. When a blue box is sent back empty or with the wrong cartridge in the box, the item is no longer available for circulation. This can lead to a long reserve list with few books available to fill orders.

As of June there are 52 blue digital book boxes with no cartridge and 20 book cartridges without blue book boxes.
