T.G.I. THURSDAY (IN UTAH)

Utah going to 4-day workweek starting August 4

Attention Braille users with accounts at the Utah State Library Division.  Most Utah state employees and the government agencies they support will be completing their workweek on Thursday by working 10 hour days starting August 4.  This means they will be closed Fridays.  Utah states this change is made in the hopes of reducing the state’s energy costs and commuters’ expenses.  Hours of public contact will change to 7:00 in the morning to 6:00 at night.

We are assured by Bessie Oakes, Library Program Manager, that Utah “will be answering phones from 7 to 6.  Hopefully, not being open on Friday will not affect service for (your) patrons.  If they will leave a message on our phones, we will process the messages first thing in the morning.  They can also email us at blind@utah.gov.”
