GREAT DECISIONS 2007
Great Decisions, a publication of the Foreign Policy Association, explores eight topics of international interest in a Briefing Book at the beginning of each year. The articles are very interesting by themselves and in some areas, as an added bonus, there are weekly discussion groups that meet starting in February. The topics for 2007 are The Middle East; Climate Change; Mexico; Migration; South Africa; War Crimes; Central Asia; and Children’s Rights.
Recording Great Decisions is a big project for our recording studio volunteers and teams of volunteers start the project the first of January so it will be ready to be mailed as close to February 1 as possible. The Library treats Great Decisions as a magazine subscription so if you received it last year, you will automatically get a copy this year. If you have not subscribed, then call the library so you will be sure to get a copy this year. Those of you in PBS station KUAT’s viewing area in Tucson can also watch the thirteen-part Great Decisions television series, which will cover all the above topics plus five more. KUAT has tentatively scheduled the series at 6:30 am Sundays, beginning January 7.
