Mark your calendar now for the 2005 Vision Rehabilitation and Technology Expo slated for Friday, November 18, at Phoenix Civic Plaza. This wonderful event will bring you informative speakers, a wide range of exhibitors, and small break-out groups that will concentrate on specific topics in new technology and research.
If you would like a list of the various companies in Arizona who sell equipment and adaptive technology for the visually impaired, just give us a call and we’ll send a copy to you. The list also includes the names of mail-order companies, complete with their toll-free numbers and their web addresses.
We had many calls asking about our described videos after the last newsletter came out, so we would like to remind you that many television programs are also described. You can get a day-by-day list at www.tv-now.com/, and remember that the listings are for the Eastern time zone, so you’ll have to adapt the times to Arizona. Generally speaking, PBS broadcasts more described programming than the other networks, but the Saturday night movie on TCM is always described and the other networks are beginning to add description to some of their programming.
