Biographical Note
Jim Carruthers served as a Republican Representative for District 5, Yuma, from 1997-2004. As a retired president of Arizona Western College he served as Vice Chairman of the Committee on Public Institutions & Universities. He also served as Chairman on the Committee on Veterans & Military Affairs, Committee on Public Institutions & Rural Affairs, and the Committee on Public Institutions & Counties. He also served on House Committees for Rural & Native American Affairs, Agriculture & Natural Resources, Telemedicine, International Trade, Technology & Tourism, Counties & Municipalities, Education, and Appropriations.
