Linda A. Montgomery

Linda Montgomery began her library career at the Daly City Public Library, California, in children’s services. 1978 – 1984 she worked at the South Caroliniana Library, University of South Carolina, where she also received her Master of Library Science Degree. She has a BA in anthropology with a minor in English, and teacher certification from the University of California, Stanislaus. In 1985 she joined the staff of the Arizona State Braille and Talking Book Library, first as Special Services Librarian, then as Assistant Director, and in 1993 was appointed Director.
Linda serves as an Ex Officio member of the Arizona Governor’s Council on Blindness and Visual Impairment. She has also served as Chair of the Western Conference of the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, and Secretary of Sun Sounds Foundation. In 2003 she received the Sun Sounds Volunteer of the Year award. Linda is currently a member of the American Library Association (ALA) and the Arizona Library Association (AzLA).
