Ron Bryant

Ron Bryant manages the day-to-day operations of the Arizona Braille and Talking Book Library. He started at BTBL in 2006 as Technical Services Librarian and was promoted to Assistant Director in 2008. Previously, he was the archivist for Ships History at the Naval Historical Center on the Navy Yard. Ron was a Child Support Enforcement Officer for the State of Arizona for nearly 10 years before moving to the Washington, DC area.
His first library job was as a student aide at Arizona State University within Cataloging right after his four year tour of duty with the United States Navy. He left ASU as supervisor of the Current Periodicals/Microforms section after almost 5 years. He has an Associate’s in Legal Studies from the American Institute, a Bachelor’s in History from Arizona State University, a Master’s in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix, and a Master’s in Information Resources and Library Science from the University of Arizona.
Ron is a member of Beta Phi Mu, the International Library and Information Studies Honor Society and the American Library Association (ALA). A native of Gary, Indiana and the Chicago area, Ron has spent most of his life in the east valley of greater Phoenix. He recently retired from the Navy Reserves after over 20 years of service and looks forward to his continued service within the State of Arizona.
